COVID-19

How did coronavirus change our lives? Society is facing one of the greatest threats since World War II. It can be compared to World War II because of its influence in 200 countries so far with rapid fatality rates. First known case of coronavirus traced back to November in China and spread over to other countries on different continents. This pandemic may have changed our lives forever as there is not a foreseeable future when it would end. Who could have imagined using the word social distancing and actually applying other than mentioning it in movies?

Who could have imagined wearing a mask (if lucky to find one) as a daily routine? Maybe this is our new normal. People can be noticed with masks and gloves on the street, in supermarkets without not being scrutinized. This is a big lesson that we should not take anything for granted as this pandemic evolved the social and economic life by affecting everyone with different backgrounds and social status. It has not discriminated against anyone. COVID-19 proves that we are absolutely nothing and so powerless against nature. We take our planet, life and loved ones for granted, but forget that the next day we might have nothing. No planet to live on, no loved ones, no life to spend. Everything might go back to where we started a million, a billion years ago. Nothingness. The absence or cessation of life or existence.
